Plastic SurgeryPlus size mommy makeover: the BMI surgeons accept, how risk rises with BMI, staged plans, surgery after weight loss and realistic results.

Mommy makeover before and after: what photos really show for the abdomen, breasts and waist, the results timeline from week 1 to 12 months, and red flags.
Mommy makeover before and after photos show three changes: a flatter abdomen with the separated muscles repaired and loose skin removed, breasts with restored volume and lift, and a slimmer waist and flanks after liposuction. The true result is hidden by swelling at first — about 80–90% is visible by 3 months, and scars and implants keep settling for 6 to 12 months.

Mommy makeover before and after — the short answer

A mommy makeover combines several surgeries — most often a tummy tuck, a breast lift or augmentation and liposuction — so before and after photos should be read area by area. Each part of the body answers a different question.
The biggest change is usually the abdomen. The tummy tuck removes stretched skin — often including the stretch marks below the belly button — and stitches the separated rectus muscles back together, which flattens the lower belly and narrows the waist. Look for a low scar that sits inside the bikini line and a natural-looking navel.
After pregnancy and breastfeeding, breasts often lose volume and drop. In the after photo, a breast lift raises the nipple and reshapes the breast; an implant or fat transfer restores upper fullness. Compare nipple position and symmetry, not only size.
Liposuction of the flanks, hips and back refines the outline from the side and back views. That is why honest galleries show front, side and back angles, not one flattering pose.

Mommy makeover results appear in stages. You see a visible change right away, but swelling hides the true shape for weeks. By about 3 months most patients see 80–90% of the final result, most swelling has gone by 6 months, and scars fade and implants settle over 6 to 12 months.
| Time after the mommy makeover | What the result looks like |
|---|---|
| Weeks 1–2 | Flatter abdomen visible, but swollen and tight; bent posture |
| Weeks 3–6 | Swelling starts to fall; shape begins to show in clothes |
| 3 months | About 80–90% of the final result; normal exercise usually resumed |
| 6 months | Most swelling resolved; contour close to final |
| 6–12 months | Scars flatten and fade; implants settle into position |
Stage figures follow Google's answers for "mommy makeover results" and "what happens 3 months after a mommy makeover" (checked 3 October 2026). The American Society of Plastic Surgeons adds:
"The final results of mommy makeover surgery may not be apparent for several months after surgery." — American Society of Plastic Surgeons
Three months after a mommy makeover is usually the first fair point to compare before and after photos. The abdomen looks flatter, breast implants or lifts have started to settle, and most patients are back to full exercise. Residual swelling, tightness and patches of numbness are still normal at this stage and keep improving. For what the first weeks feel like, read 3 weeks after a tummy tuck.
Every mommy makeover leaves scars: a low horizontal scar from the tummy tuck, one around the navel, and scars around the areola — often with a vertical line — from a breast lift. The ASPS is direct: "Over time, the implants will settle and the scar lines will improve, although they'll never disappear completely." Photos taken at 12 months or later show scars more honestly than photos at 3 months.
Where each scar sits and how it fades over time is explained in mommy makeover scars: where they are and how they fade.
A full body mommy makeover before and after adds procedures beyond the classic three — typically 360° liposuction, a Brazilian butt lift, or an arm lift after weight loss. The change in silhouette is larger, but so is the operation. In 25,478 abdominoplasty patients, major complications rose from 3.1% for a tummy tuck alone to 6.8% when other body-contouring procedures were added and 10.4% when liposuction was added as well (Winocour et al., Plast Reconstr Surg 2015). Bigger "after" photos come with bigger trade-offs.
A mommy makeover usually changes weight by only 5 to 15 pounds, because it removes skin and localised fat rather than treating overall weight. The visible difference comes from shape: many patients drop 1 to 3 clothing sizes. Surgeons generally want you close to your goal weight before surgery — the ASPS lists "You are at your ideal body weight" among its candidate criteria. If you are still losing weight, see the ideal body weight chart and BMI first.

Mommy makeover before and after pictures — the pics clinics post online — are marketing as well as evidence. Before trusting a gallery, check these six points:
Every gallery shows individual patients; results vary from person to person and are not guaranteed.
When a clinic in Turkey sends mommy makeover before and after photos, ask whether the patients were operated on by the surgeon who will operate on you, how long after surgery the photos were taken, and whether the clinic can show a case with a body type like yours. Ask how complications are followed up once you are home — a 2023 systematic review of 589 patients with complications after cosmetic surgery abroad identified follow-up as a key weak point (Alkaelani et al., Ann Plast Surg 2023). For the full trip and cost picture, see mommy makeover in Turkey: costs, trip plan and safety.
The American Society of Plastic Surgeons runs a mommy makeover photo gallery, which lets you compare many body types in one place. Use it to calibrate expectations, then ask your own surgeon for cases they personally performed. To understand each procedure behind the photos, read what a mommy makeover is, and for prices see mommy makeover packages.
The most useful "before" photo is your own. Livist Medical arranges mommy makeover treatment in Turkey at contracted healthcare institutions holding a Health Tourism Authorization Certificate. Send your photos for a free surgical assessment and an honest view of what your result could look like — with no promise of a specific outcome.
