About the doctor
Prof. Dr. Nejat Akalan is one of Turkey's most experienced neurosurgeons, leading the Department of Neurosurgery at Medipol Mega University Hospital. With more than 45 years of experience, he is internationally recognized for his work in epilepsy surgery, brain tumors and pediatric neurosurgery. He graduated from Ankara University, completed his neurosurgery residency at Hacettepe University, and held academic positions at the University of Washington. He has authored more than 117 research papers and trained generations of neurosurgeons.
